Our Story
I’m Alex, and what started in 2014 with a single coffee van (and a dream) has now become West Berkshire Roastery - complete with two coffee roasters and a Labrador who thinks he’s the CEO.
Along the way, I uncovered some truths: coffee is one of the planet’s most sprayed crop. Pesticides? Chemicals? Absolutely everywhere. So, I ditched the usual beans and went on a quest for the good stuff: direct-traded coffees that don’t come with a side of artificial pesticides.
With a bit of Berkshire flair and caffeine-fuelled creativity, I’m here to bring you one of the finest (and cleanest) coffee experiences you’ll ever sip. I hope you’ll agree. It’s coffee refreshingly drama free.

Our Mexican Mountain Water Decaf is smooth, sweet and seriously satisfying, crafted for coffee lovers who want all the flavour without the caffeine. Sourced from high-altitude farms in Mexico and naturally decaffeinated using pure mountain water, this coffee delivers a clean, balanced cup with rich chocolate sweetness and a silky finish.
Roasted medium to bring out its comforting biscuit-like sweetness and creamy body, it’s equally delicious as espresso, cafetière, filter or with milk.
In the cup
Expect comforting notes of milk chocolate, caramelised brown sugar and toasted almond, finished with a subtle hint of orange and soft cocoa. Low acidity and beautifully smooth from start to finish.
Why it’s different
Unlike traditional decaf methods, the Mountain Water Process uses only fresh glacier water to gently remove caffeine while keeping the coffee’s natural flavour and aroma intact. No chemicals, no compromise — just great coffee that happens to be decaf.
