Our Story
I’m Alex, and what started in 2014 with a single coffee van (and a dream) has now become West Berkshire Roastery - complete with two coffee roasters and a Labrador who thinks he’s the CEO.
Along the way, I uncovered some truths: coffee is one of the planet’s most sprayed crop. Pesticides? Chemicals? Absolutely everywhere. So, I ditched the usual beans and went on a quest for the good stuff: direct-traded coffees that don’t come with a side of artificial pesticides.
With a bit of Berkshire flair and caffeine-fuelled creativity, I’m here to bring you one of the finest (and cleanest) coffee experiences you’ll ever sip. I hope you’ll agree. It’s coffee refreshingly drama free.

4) When will my coffee be delivered?
The date you set for your subscription, will be the day we process your order. Expect this to be delivered within 2-3 business days after this date. Please note if this day lands on a weekend or bank holiday, we will process it the next working day.
Awesome tasting coffee with a fantastic company service
I'm really pleased I found this local roastery with such great tasting coffee. The White Gold is my new go-to coffee which forms the backbone of my coffee drinking. I have a 1KG bag on subscription which I then pad out with small bags from different places for variety, always knowing I'll be returning to one of my favourites. This works great in my Aeropress.

Decided to cut down on my coffee consumption, so I opted for quality over quantity. I started exploring small local coffee companies and found West Berkshire Roastery. Bought the 3 bag selection and compared it to supermarket beans.
Oh my god no comparison, I’ve turned into a coffee snob. I’ve gone elsewhere and come back and now WBR Signature and White Gold will be on repeat order.
Using a cheap scale, Timemore Chestnut C3S Pro hand grinder, and an Aeropress my mornings coffee is Awesome.
Perfectly balanced aromas and acidity. I tried the white gold roast and i love it. I would recommended to anyone who wants a delicious cup of coffee every time.
This coffee is excellent and always arrives very fresh. I enjoy drinking it on weekends or in the afternoon when I am working from home, as the lighter roast provides a tasty pick-me-up without being too strong.
Amazing taste
White Gold is a really well rounded coffee but not as heavy and the bitterness is milder.
A great alternative if you are not over keen on stronger tasting coffee.
This still tastes best quality.
All coffee from West Berkshire Roastery tastes clean and fresh and lacks that bitter after taste. The White Gold is a lighter roast and has a milder taste. It works well with oat milk, I grind for Espresso to make lattes and the flavour comes through well. This sits well on the stomach which is good as i often drink my first before breakfast.
A wonderful lighter complement to Gold Blend.
This subscription is winning in a few ways, I was with another company but was finding it a bit manual to adjust delivery, so can easily do that here, love the packaging too, and postage is fast too. Most importantly the coffee roast is perfect for me, heading in the chocolate taste direction and the price you cant beat either for a kg of delicious coffee beans. Nice Smooth easy to drink Coffee
Love all the WBR coffee, but White Gold just might be my favourite. Organic and mold tested is also a great positive!
My go to bean from my go to roastery
I’m a big fan of WBR’s Gold blend but sometimes need a coffee that’s a bit milder. White Gold absolutely fits the bill - it’s got all the flavour but just a calmer coffee hit. Its great to have the choice to fit the mood!
This is the first time trying white gold a lighter roast than the black gold and signature gold which I have had before. And I think it is the best coffee I have had. I brew using a V60 and also a mokka pot and the coffee is excellent rich chocolaty with great depth of flavour my new go to coffee. To brew coffee this good with very simple equipment shows me it’s not the fancy espresso machines but the quality of the bean that gives you great coffee and White Gold is the best coffee I have had.
This is my favourite coffee here. Goes great with a tiny bit of Barista oat milk!
I mix 1 bag of decaf beans with 3 bags of White Gold for an all day blend. Along with Signature Gold these are our favourite coffee beans.
Mixing with the decaf allows us to drink more coffee for the same level of caffeine. Makes great Lattes.
