Our Story
I'm Alex and what started in 2014 with a single coffee van (and a dream) has now become West Berkshire Roastery - complete with two coffee roasters and a Labrador who thinks he’s the CEO.
Along the way, I uncovered some truths: coffee is the planet’s most sprayed crop. Pesticides? Chemicals? Absolutely everywhere. So, I ditched the usual beans and went on a quest for the good stuff: organically farmed, direct-traded coffees that don’t come with a side of pesticides.
With a bit of Berkshire flair and caffeine-fuelled creativity, I’m here to bring you one of the finest (and cleanest) coffee experiences you’ll ever sip. I hope you’ll agree. It’s coffee refreshingly drama free.

Unlike most French Presses, ESPRO uses two micro-mesh filters to strain your coffee grounds, resulting in smoother, grit-free coffee.
CAFÉ-LEVEL FLAVOUR FOR LONGER:
A silicone lip lines the dual micro-mesh filters to create a tight seal when you press the plunger down. This seal dramatically slows down extraction of your coffee —so your brew doesn't get bitter over time, like most French Presses.

Our French press technology is engineered to work in perfect harmony to bring you smoother, grit-free coffee that’s delicious from the first drop to the last.
Patented double micro-mesh filters strain coffee grounds through filters that are 9-times and 12-times finer than typical French presses in order to prevent grit from entering your coffee.
PREMIUM LOCKING GLASS VESSEL:
Our Schott-Duran borosilicate glass is German-made and 40% thicker than competing glass presses, and is the same glass used in professional scientific beakers.
Not only is it durable, but it's held in place using sliding Safety Lock technology that helps prevent spills and shatters so that you're free to watch the magic unfold as your handful of grounds turns into the perfect cup of coffee.
PROPRIETARY PRESS TECHNOLOGY:
Our double micro-filter is surrounded by a silicone lip that runs along the rim, so it fits snugly inside the container and creates a seal. When you press the plunger down, extraction stops immediately—so your brew is consistent from the first pour to the last.
